A close-up of a therapist’s bookshelf in photographic realism, filled with neatly arranged hardcover books in calm, muted colors like navy, soft gray, and warm beige. Interspersed are small, intentional objects: a matte-white ceramic sculpture suggesting interconnected shapes, a subtle hourglass with light sand, and a framed minimalist line drawing. The shelves are smooth, light oak with visible grain, set against a soft, neutral wall. Early morning natural light from the side creates gentle highlights and shadows across the spines and objects. Captured at a slight angle with moderate depth of field, the mood is thoughtful, professional, and quietly reassuring, suggesting depth of knowledge and practical guidance without feeling overwhelming.

About Me

  • I started working in the mental health space nearly 20 years ago. In that time, I’ve worked in group homes, public and private schools, rehab facilities, mental health clinics, and private practice. It’s been an invaluable privilege to work with so many people from different walks of life. This has very much informed the way I work and has helped develop the approachable and relaxed style that is often critical in feeling safe enough to share.
  • As a board President and member for several non-profits, as well as a former program director for a mental health clinic, I’ve been apart of a number of professional organizations and have functioned at several levels. These experiences have taught me the value of understanding the different systems people inhabit and how to think critically about these environments and successfully navigate them. Psychology isn’t just about what’s happening in your own mind, it’s also about how the environments your in affect you.
  • My life experiences have also benefitted the work I do. I’ve been fortunate to travel to Asia, South America, Europe. Where I have encountered many different cultures and many different languages. It seems to me that therapy is often about finding a language and micro-culture where two people learn to collaborate and thrive. It’s through these dynamic discussions where we can identify areas or opportunity and growth.
  • I’m also an athlete. I’ve competed in a number of high school state championship races, was a co-captain on my college lacrosse team, and now work out regularly and play golf. Sports have taught me how to train for excellence. I often think of therapy as a form of training where you go to a place to practice and improve so that you can be your best in any venue.
